RE: The 90's Petticoat
Vintage Full Length Skirt
Description
Description
In 1947, Christian Dior introduced his first line “New Look,” defined by rounded shoulders, a cinched waist, and a exaggerated full skirt. This look was often achieved by layering multiple petticoats underneath the skirt; RE:launching the petticoat not as an undergarment, but as a fashion statement. While petticoats are not often worn by the typical 21st-century woman, “underwear as outerwear” has made its way into the mainstream - as seen with corsets, lace-trimmed tops, and silky slip dresses. Who’s to say petticoats aren’t next? We added some 90's flair to ours with a flannel tied around the waist.
